Readathon 2019 – Building Novel Ideas

“Readathon 2019 – Building Novel Ideas” took place between January 28 – February 22.  Students worked hard during this period of time in order to achieve their goals. Let’s give them a big round of applause for this.

More than 8000 AR quizzes were taken for the whole school, and the average passing percentage was higher than 80%, which is an excellent result for all of our students. If we count the number of words read, there were more than 257 million words!

What we have been learning in the library lately

After Readathon, high school students learn about copyright and plagiarism in the remaining library lessons in Term 3 in order to prepare them for writing academic essays in the future study.

Readathon 2019

Planning for Readathon 2019 started in December, 2018. There will be numerous activities for students across the school. This year, the theme for Readathon will be around building – Building minds.  Building futures!

Besides that, the library is carrying out several sessions about award-winning authors, such as Anthony Browne and Andrea Beaty. These introductions allow our students to have a wider range of book selections. Some skills, like summarizing and referencing, are being introduced to upper primary students.
